SAP GUI for Windows 7.20 is not supported on Windows 8 / Windows Server 2012 and will not be supported on these platforms.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 9
=> SAP GUI  7.20 patchlevel 5

Microsoft Internet Explorer 8
=> Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 is supported by SAP GUI for Windows 7.20 or higher versions.
